For this first project, we created booklets with a single noun as our prompt. The project taught us about letter press, block relief printing, duplex printing, and much more as you will see through this project.
Completed 5x7 hand bound booklet
The noun I received was "Cow". What this image demonstrates is the lateral thought process that went into using my noun in more ways than what most people might expect.
These are 6 letter mark thumbnails that I was to choose from and and then carve out of a linoleum block, which was then used for block printing the cover of the booklet.
We made our booklet pages by creating an inDesign file that contained spreads and made up 36 pages.
We explored monochrome print on colored papers. All monochrome prints were from the CMYK system.
